Booking your little ones First Birthday Photo Session

First Birthday Cake Smash Photo Sessions are so much fun!

I have two options when booking your Birthday Session, a Mini or Full Session. Both include your choice of colors/theme, plus the cake, balloons, streamers and sometimes a banner if I’ve done a session in those colors before. Here’s whats included in each:

Full First Birthday Session – $200

– 1 hour session in studio or at an outdoor location

– 4 backdrops/4 outfits

– Parent and sibling poses included

– Cake and balloons provided

– 40-50 edited images delivered via digital download

Mini First Birthday Session – $125

– 30 minute session in-studio only

– 2 backdrops/outfits (one outfit/backdrop for cake smash setup, then one for a separate backdrop)

– Cake and balloons provided

– 10 digital images delivered via digital download

A Mini First Birthday Session comes with one other backdrop and outfit that we do before the cake smash. I have an album on my facebook page that shows all my available backdrops. It helps to look through it and choose a backdrop before you come in so that you can match an outfit to it.

A Full First Birthday Session come with 3 additional backdrops/outfits. (4 total with the cake smash outfit). Siblings and family shots are also included as one of the 3 additional backdrops in a Full First Birthday Session.

I recommend booking about a month before you’d like to come in. That way I have enough time or order the cake and balloons and plan the setup. I also recommend being as specific as possible when telling me what colors/theme you’d like to go with. I always want to create just what you have envisioned. If you don’t want a specific theme then thats ok! Just pick a few coordinating colors and we can go with that. Some people just like doing shades of one color, like shades of pinks, others will pick two or three colors, like navy blue, grey and teal or peach and mint.

I love when parents bring in special outfits to match their cake smash setup and send me a photo of what they’ve purchased for baby to wear. Then I know the exact colors you want to go with. You can find some really cute outfits on Etsy and even Amazon.

Another thing I recommend is letting baby eat frosting or something similar (something like pudding) before you come in. That way they’re used to the feeling of thick, sticky food on their hands. In my experience, most babies aren’t too interested in the cake unless they’ve had one before.
